"YOUR Relationship Blindspot is the source of your repeated relationship problems. Identify that, change that and you not only move forward in new ways, you get to feel like yourself again."
"In this therapy, both you and your partner receive straightforward guidance to identify your blindspots, see clearly how this creates your frustration, learn and practice the one thing you need to do to unlock and resolve the many issues you are facing." ~Don Elium, Marriage and Family Therapist co-author of Raising A Family, Raising A Son, Raising a Daughter & Raising A Teenager
TheMarriageSchool.com is especially designed for couples who are unable to attend weekly appointments or who live out of the area. It is suggested to attend YOUR Relationship Blind Spot Workshop first. Then return for a series of nine personalized couples sessions over a three-day period. Couples immediately begin to get to the heart of the underlying problems in their marriage. Partners identify their individual roles and practice new options for dealing with long standing, difficult, and even hidden issues.
Compassion, honesty, integrity, respect, and transparency guide the therapy and discussions. Compatible with any on-going marriage therapy or personal counseling, the three-day series involves both partners in an educational and therapeutic dialogue, transforming the myths of how marriage should work to how marriage does work. With heartfelt directness and kindness, Don Elium, MA MFT, guides couples to face the challenges for growth that any marriage demands. This simple, to-the-point program engages each participant in learning the lessons that marriage teaches about happiness, letting go of suffering, and practicing a love that stays solid in the midst of conflict. There are NO QUICK FIXES in marriage. This material, workshop, and couple sessions point to long-term solutions for long-term committed relationships. Each step makes the way for the new possibilites with what you actually already have.
TheMarriageSchool.com Series is designed for flexible scheduling and you choose how often you want to attend. You can attend the Series as your need and schedule allow: once a month, bimonthly, quarterly, annually, or as your marriage needs arise.
Each 50 minute session is $175.00 making the Series of 9 total cost $1575.
If more sessions are requested beyond the 9, each additional session is $175. Payment to be made in advance by credit card or Personal Check.

Therapy with Don Elium, MA MFT Follows The Steps of This Poem
There’s A Hole In My Sidewalk (Book) By Portia Nelson
Autobiography In Five Short Chapters (Poem)
Chapter One
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost . . . I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
Chapter Two
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
Chapter Three
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in . . . it’s a habit . . . but,
My eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.
Chapter Four
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
Chapter Five
I walk down another street.

Something significantly new awaits you.
I hope I have the privilege to work with you soon.
Sincerely,
Don

PARTNERSHIP
"But let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow." ~Kahlil Gibran
