While you can consciously envision the life you want to live and the person you want to be, when old habits that are controlled by your subconscious mind are triggered, no effort on your part will change your reaction. The buttons get automatically pushed.
But, there is very GOOD NEWS for old recurring problems. The subconscious is both the problem AND the solution to your dilemma. Since it created the old, frustrating pattern, it can change that pattern so that a more fulfilling and productive outcome results.

It takes forever to find a way out.

There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.

It still takes a long time to get out.

I see it is there.
